A friend of mine worked as a bike messenger and requested I help him make a rack for him to be able to transport larger heavier items. This is one of the few collaboration builds on this website.

Design

    The client came to me with a design in mind, and a napkin sketch in hand. I made a few suggestions and modifications, in order to simplify the manufacturing process and to make the project cost effective. I also made suggestions to improve the mounting mechanism and the ease of removal of the device.

Material

   The material was purchased by the client, it was a form of mild steel although the exact alloy is unknown to me.

Manufacturing

    The client helped in the manufacturing of the rack, he cut some tubes and helped out on finishing the edges.
